CappingTV Summer Brawl 2021

Introducing the 2021 Summer Brawl!

We’re ringing in the new year with the same format we had for the 2020 Summer Brawl: No-offclass 6s! No pick classes, no defensive walls, just the tried and true meta taken to the extreme.

On offer is a $500 prize pool for the top 3 teams in the Premier division, $50 for the lower division, and medals for all participants! Head over to our website to learn more!

We will be using a slightly modified version of the ozfortress 2020 ruleset, with any changes listed below.

1) Teams are limited to: two scouts, two soldiers, one demo, one medic.
2) Offclassing is forbidden. Any team caught breaking this rule during the group stage will have their map score forfeited. Any team caught breaking the rule during the knockout stage will be disqualified from the tournament.
3) Qixalite bookables are the only servers to be used during the tournament.
4) Ties must be resolved by a Golden Cap. If no one has captured the last point at the end of 10 minutes, the team holding the middle point will be the winner.
5) Pauses can't last more than 3 minutes.

Server Configs
The Qixalite servers will have a custom 6s config with the following changes:

  • The only classes that can be played are Scout (2 max), Soldier (2 max), Demo (1 max), Medic (1 max). Engineer will have the option of being chosen to accommodate mid-game class swaps. Any team caught using the Engineer to influence the game will have their game forfeited.
  • We will be using Twiikuu's competitive fixes plugin that ozfortress players are no doubt used to, including Deterministic Fall Damage, Remove Pipe Spin, Gunboats Always Apply, and Projectiles Ignore Teammates. Med will still run at Scout speed when healing a scout.

Map Pool
The maps for the cup are stock favorites, alongside Mannbase, making it's competitive TF2 tournament debut. These maps have been picked due to their suitability for no-offclassing.

Divisions and Knockouts
At the start of signups there will be no divisions set in stone. Brackets and group size will be determined during the signup process and released after rosters are locked. Assuming more than one division, the top division will be round-robin while the lower divisions will be done with a swiss bracket.

Knockout format will be determined by the size of team pool. All divisions will play a Bo3.

All knockout games will be played as a BO1, on a pick/ban system.

Rosters and mercenary rules
The cap on team rosters are 8 players. If players are unavailable, only one mercenary per team is allowed in each match. All mercenaries require cpTV staff approval.

CappingTV staff will act as the arbitrators in the event of an unreasonable merc denial and reserve the right to overrule the opposing team's decision.

STREAMING AND STV's
CappingTV will be providing exclusive coverage of the 2020 Summer Brawl. Teams are required to cooperate with casting organizers if their match is picked for air-time. As such, no penalties will be incurred if a match starts late.

All games except the Grand Finals are open source TV. Players are welcome to stream their own games with a mandatory 90 second delay.

PRIZE COLLECTION
To collect your prize you must forfeit your details to us to be able to distribute your prize. Prizes will be distributed within 90 days of the events date. Any private data will be wiped 180 days after the events date.
